Types of motor vehicle tax

Before knowing how to check vehicle tax online, first you need to know the types of motor vehicle tax. Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) is divided into two types, namely Annual Tax and Five-Year Tax. What are the differences between the two?

1. Annual Tax

Every vehicle owner is required to pay an annual tax where the tax due is adjusted to the date and month the STNK is issued. After paying the vehicle tax, you will be given a brown-based proof of payment as proof.

2. Five-Year Tax

Unlike the annual tax, paying the five-year tax at once is done in conjunction with renewing the STNK, vehicle plate, and checking the vehicle's condition. The latter needs to be done by swiping the vehicle number and engine number. Unfortunately, this process requires you to visit the Samsat office in the area as per your domicile address on the STNK.
